Aluminum 6101 for Busbar Conductor and Supercharging Piles

6101 aluminum plate is an Al-Mg-Si series alloy, which is a high-strength conductive material. As the most widely used electrical alloy, 6101 aluminum sheet has 55% IACS guarantee, good corrosion resistance and weldability, and is used for processing high-strength busbar. It contains 0.3%~0.5% Mg and 0.4%~0.7% Si. Since the solubility of M92 Si in the 6101 aluminium alloy increases with the increase in temperature, the strength of the 6101 conductive aluminium for busbar can be improved by solution treatment and artificial aging without affecting its good electrical conductivity. 6101 serves as a high-strength aluminum material for buses, electrical conductors and radiator materials, bus conductors, radiator materials, etc.

Properties of 6101 Auto Aluminum

Machinability by conventional means is good. Its forming ability is also good. It is applicable for all the standard processes including gas torch welding. However, the best welding method is inert gas arc welding. The filler rod of the same alloy should be used. It can be strengthened by heat treatment.

6101 VS Other Aluminum Alloys

      • 6101 aluminum is similar to 6063 aluminum alloy, but it has minor chemistry changes when its electrical conductivity is enhanced.
      • Alghough its conductivity is a little lower than thaof 1350 alloy, 6101 alumnum has greater strength.
